ITH-INUVIK/TUK HIGHWAY

ITINERARY & WHATS INCLUDED & NOT INCLUDED

ARCTIC OCEAN TOUR TO TUKTOYAKTUK - FULL DAY - 296km

Fly into Inuvik the day before our tour begins , you will be picked up at the Inuvik Airport and get settled in at your accommodations . You will then be taken on a grand tour of the Town of Inuvik , the town office and tourism information center to get your Arctic circle adventure certificates .
The morning of the tour we will be picking you up at 9am after your breakfast  (not included in price) we will then depart Inuvik for the ITH - Inuvik-Tuk Highway ,the speed limit is 75 km/h , with stops every 45 km for photography and views.

Upon arrival we take a ride through Tuktoyaktuk to the Arctic Ocean to dip your feet into the Ocean to symbolize that you have reached your destination with photograph opportunities,  after the initial excitement of reaching the ocean you will be greeted by our local tour guide that will take you on a tour of the beautiful community and the awesome people who call Tuk home, the local landmarks including the ice house , sod house and sample local country foods (included in price).

After the tour you will be treated to a lunch(included in price), with a short break then we will start our return ride to Inuvik for supper(included in price),thus completing our full day of adventure with reflection and a beer.


You have the option of booking for both days

MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE TOUR TO THE NWT/YUKON BORDER - 544km

Upon arrival at the Inuvik airport you will be picked up and get settled in at your accommodations  (included in price) you will then be taken on the grand tour of the Town of Inuvik , the town office and the tourism information center for your Arctic circle adventure certificate .

The morning of the tour we will be picking you up at 9am after your breakfast (not included in price) we will then depart Inuvik for The Dempster Highway ,the speed limit is 90km/h , we will take a short rest at the first ferry crossing at The Mackenzie River , 120km to this stop ,we will then continue along the Dempster Highway to Fort McPherson with a short stop along the way for a break & photographs .Upon arrival we will take you on a ride through the community and a little tour before stopping at the Fort McPherson tourism center for a great lunch break and engage with the locals and staff on the rich history of this beautiful community and its people.There will be time for photography if you choose to do so .

We then resume our ride to the next ferry crossing at The Peel River and then start our climb into the Magnificent Richardson Mountains , as we climb we will stop for short bursts of photo ops , then continue our climb to the NWT/YUKON BORDER where you can take more photos , this ride from Fort McPherson to the NWT border is 85km each way .

Upon our descent we will do a short side tour up the side of a mountain on an old dirt road that leads to a tower for a Spectacular view of the Richardson Mountains and the Dempster Highway from the Mountain top .

From here we head back down the mountain and make our way to Midway Lake to our small cabin for a rest and snacks , after we are refreshed , we resume our ride back to Inuvik .Upon arrival we will enjoy our supper at Alestine's or another local establishment depending on availability (included in price) for a unique experience and great food , with reflection and a beer.



ARCTIC CIRCLE MONUMENT TOUR - 1028km

Day 1 will be the Arctic Ocean and Community tour in Tuktoyaktuk and then the return ride back to Inuvik.
The morning of day 2 we will be picking you up at 9am after your breakfast (not included in price) we will then depart Inuvik for The Dempster Highway ,the speed limit is 90km/h , we will take a short rest at the first ferry crossing at The Mackenzie River , 120km to this stop ,we will then continue along the Dempster Highway to Fort McPherson with a short stop along the way for a break & photographs .Upon arrival we will take you on a ride through the community and a little tour before stopping at the Fort McPherson tourism center for a great lunch break and engage with the locals and staff on the rich history of this beautiful community and its people.There will be time for photography if you choose to do so .

The next destination will be The Arctic Circle Monument  for a spectacular view of the Richardson Mountains and then the final leg to Eagle Plains for supper and rest for the night at the Hotel (not included in price) .

Day 3 we start our return trip back to Inuvik with stops along the way ,Upon arrival we will enjoy our supper at Alestine's or another local establishment depending on availability (included in price) for a unique experience and great food , with reflection and a beer.

With a one-night layover, Inuvik is reachable from anywhere in North America within two days. There are daily flights from Edmonton, Yellowknife and Whitehorse. And weekly flights from Vancouver, Calgary.
